Corrugated galvanized aluminum panels are a sustainable solution, minimizing long term maintenance. The wood, single panel glazed front door enjoys privacy upon approach. Roof lines complement original roof slopes with contemporary pegboard soffit detailing. Walkable plantings.
Post and beam construction in a mid-century design required extensive restoration. Substantial new low-e glazing sliding doors were added, using the architectural definition of the original home. A new double master suite added at east and west, creating a private courtyard.
A white-on-white minimalist aesthetic throughout. Custom millwork which conceals laundry, pantry and recycling center. Galvanized metal sculpture centers the courtyard.
Fluted glazing at the sidelight, and exterior bat and board siding, indicated a vertical aesthetic carried throughout the space. Black stained, red and white oak flooring was refinished. Period doors were found, restored and reused. A new fireplace wall was installed.
