Utah Legislative Change
Joining Amy Coombs, lobbyist for the Interior Design contingent in Utah, and IIDA office representative Emily Kluczynski, Janice Stevenor Dale lends support to make legislative progress happen in another state, Utah. Ideal for Idaho salutes our colleagues in Utah: on Friday, February the 5th the Senate Business and Labor Committee unanimously passed Senate Bill 117, “Commercial Interior Design Certification Modifications”. It will now be heard by the Senate. (Date unknown). The efforts that have gotten us to this success have been great. In the past 320 days following the end of the 2015 session, Senator Escamilla, along with the IDEAL for Utah lobbyist, have been working diligently on Interior Design legislation. Numerous meetings have been held throughout the year with stake holders, those who have an interest in the bill. The result is S.B. 117, the “Commercial Interior Design Modification Bill.” The bill language is located at http://le.utah.gov/~2016/bills/static/SB0117.html.
